When I was 12, I discovered mix making. Using my Sony double cassette stereo, I dubbed songs, created album art for the cassettes, and gave mix tapes to friends. With two older siblings who grew up in the 80s as well, I was heavily influenced by their musical tastes. Listening to the likes of the Smiths, Bauhaus, Bad Brains, and U2, I got a taste of an eclectic mix of songs. In sixth grade, I got my first two compact discs: Boyz II Men's Cooleyhighharmony and Public Enemy's Fear of a Black Planet. I would make mixes for friends as a way to procrastinate from doing homework. In the past few years, I've perused music blogs, discovering and rediscovering music and artists in the process. Every month, I send out a mix of music I have been listening to and enjoying. Here is the brainchild of this mix making. Enjoy and let me know what you think!
